Apr. 21st, 2009 01:49 pmWoohoo!! 2nd tour in a row captaincy goes to an Irishman, and this time it's our own Paul O'Connell! Admittedly, this season O'Driscoll has stepped up his game to a whole new level, and deserved his captaincy of the Irish squad, but O'Connell's been consistent at Munster and Irish levels, through Heineken Cup, Magner's League and up to the Six Nations. Mam was worried about Warren Gatland's bias towards Irish players, both because of his past with Ireland and because of the Grand Slam defeat this year. But 14 Irish players on a 37 person squad? Absolutely fantastic, and certainly well deserved. Especially with wild cards like Keith Earls and Alan Quinlan included. Well done Ireland.
