Rambling Ramble

Ok, so because I'm feeling a little bit off today and totally putting off doing any sort of work whatsoever, I'm just gonna type here, doing a round up of fandoms that I am currently interested in. Note here that I do not use the words "fan of", because yeah. I don't do fangirling. I have enough people around me who will (And on that note, sometimes I wonder why I don't just give in to the madness that is people I know - and not just the fangirling thing). But anyway!
Charmed - Has to go first. This show introduced me to the Internet, I swear. Particuarly to fanfiction. It remains my most written fandom, although I've pretty much dropped out of it these days (with not one, but 3 works in progress sitting in my ff account). After Season 6, I just gave up. I've been kind of watching it again recently, though, so who knows? I may finish off those stories sometime.
CSI - Any and all combinations of the three. I like Horatio - I know a lot of people don't see past the glasses, but he's a good guy, and for me that's what counts. I prefer both Speed and Ryan, and I want to read something with both of them and their relationship with "mom" Alexx someday. Also, Eric Szmanda and Jonathan Togo were seperated at birth, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks so. Every time my sister watches either Vegas or Miami she gets the name wrong. Also, I'm not a city girl in any way at all, but CSI:NY makes me want to go to New York. Yes, even through all the death.
Criminal Minds - Watching crime shows often leaves people hating the FBI. Hell, watching any sort of cop show skews the Bureau, but this one redeems it. Again, that's just my opinion. Although, I have to say, 3 years and the replacement of two of the main characters? Seems a little odd. Not counting Holly Gribbs, CSI made it to Season 8. Of course, now leaving seems to be the done thing on CSI, but I digress. Spencer is lovely, and the relationship between Morgan and Garcia is fantastic. A good blend of humour and thought, just how I like it!
NCIS - Following in my crime watching genre. This has got to be the funniest crime show ever. The easy camraderie of the characters and the whole family aspect aren't new, but they're done so much better here than in any show like it I've ever seen. It really makes Bruckheimer look morbid. I adore each and every one of the characters. Well, except maybe Vance, but I'm sure he'll grow on me after a while. Most people do, in real life and in fiction. Also, JAG spinoff? Brilliant.
Doctor Who - Just the new series'. I tried getting into Classic Who, but it didn't really go anywhere. I'm one of those people who prefers Martha over Rose, not that I hate Rose at all. I just think too much of a big deal is made out of her. I also think Catherine Tate is marvelous as Donna. She really shows that she's not just some slapstick comedienne. Again, though, I want to see something with Lauren and the Doctor, preferably referencing the Comic Relief sketch. Maybe I'll write these things some day...
Labyrinth - An oldie but definitely a goodie. I still don't understand why I like Sarah so much, when she was nothing but bratty during the film. Ok, so she was tired and pissed off at her stepmother. Who doesn't get annoyed at parents sometimes? But the wishing to get rid of her brother thing I will never understand. I'm the oldest of four, and even when my siblings drive me crazy I will never want them gone. They're stuck with me, much as they might hate it. But Bowie rocks, and the soundtrack is played a lot on my iPod.
Supernatural - This is the new one. Like, the really new one. And I blame LO. It's definitely her fault. Plus BJ Jones has like a million banners, and it seems one of the biggest fandoms out there (seriously, think very carefully before taking it on), so it was kind of inevitable that I'd go see what all the fuss was about. Bad idea, because now? I'm kinda hooked. And I've only watched something like 10 episodes. Not even, probably. It's a horror movie every week, what's not to like? And not even necessarily the gore part, it's just really well characterised, well plotted, and funny. Plus, you know, there's the "Scary Just Got Sexy" Jensen and Jared. Which of course gave me Dark Angel, Gilmore Girls and Supernatural to watch again. Although, House of Wax is a definite No. Please, like I'd choose to subject myself to an hour and a half or so of Paris Hilton?
Kingdom Hearts - Disney and Final Fantasy? What's not to like? Actually, I held out on getting into Final Fantasy until these games. Even now, I still mostly read Kingdom Hearts and whatever associated characters come with it. But a lot of the time, playing Kingdom Hearts is like playing a big fanfic, just Nomura's way of appreciating his own characters and games, I guess. A lot of the time, I want to hit Riku. Or hug him, because the boy is just stupid sometimes. I also played the start of the 2nd game about 3 times because at first, I liked Roxas a lot better than Sora, and couldn't understand why they just basically killed him. Actually, that was probably my main motivation for getting into this fandom in the first place.
High School Musical - Shut up. Yes, I know. Trust me, I know. But I'm a Disney girl, and such a sap at heart, which means I adore it. Plus, Kelsi looks a lot like my sister, so I love teasing her about it. Well, teasing her about anything HSM related, because her dance class played the soundtrack one too many times for her liking, and she went from really liking it to detesting it. Which I haven't been able to do yet, no matter how much I watch or listen to it. Plus, it's cute.
What I find weird is that I haven't a lot of book fandoms that I would read consistently. Mostly, because I find the original authors are much better, I guess. Artemis Fowl crops up every so often, and LJ Smith's Vampire Diaries. Oh, and Howl's Moving Castle, sometimes. Maybe it's just where I am at the moment, because it doesn't seem like I'm reading a lot of anime recently, either. There's always Furuba, of course, and Ouran, but not really that much at the moment. There are also about a million and one other things that I'll read, but on a much more casual basis than this. Also, most of the ones above I've written for at some stage, even if I've never posted anything. So they're the important ones. Yup.
